Here's a HUGE nerf nobody has been covering (the value of the new gacha skin business model) and I've tried posting on the lol reddit (it was blowing up, but mods lock it fast claiming it's a "repost" when it really isn't a repost and nobody else is covering it). Anyways, here's the text, would appreciate if you could help spread word about this nerf, which also affects non whale players since there is lost value in the battlepass from the old grab bags to the new ancient spark drops. Pros of the already overly exensive and criticized old gacha skins: - 90 guaranteed skin shards from the capsules (even more some times and mythic essence) -3-5 skins (not shards) from the respective skinline, sometimes even brand new quality skins -Three (3) event bags (9-12+ skin shards and higher odds of mythic essence/content) -Guaranteed icons/emotes for the skin Cons: -Gambling 200$, out of those skins odds is you will like very few of them Now for comparison Pros of the new sanctum gacha skins: -200 mythic essence on average (the average sanctum spark gives 5 ME) -Skins from the pool (?) -Other (?) ... Unclear Cons: -Gambling 125$, you pretty much get no skin shards value at all Conclusion: With how overnerfed and kind of useless Mythic essence has become since the removal of the ability to swap 10 mythic essence for a random skin shard, the new sanctum deal is absolutely terrible. Even if you still could swap ME for skin shards at the old rate of 10 ME for a shard, you would only get 20 skin shards with this new model. The new sanctum mythic variant cost is about 1/3rd cheaper than the old model and may bait people to think that they lowered the cost of gacha skins, but the value that you would get out of everything else that isn't the mythic skin isn't even 1/5th of the older value 102~ skin shards + 3-5 permanent skins and 20~mythic essence >>>>>> 200 mythic essence (20 skin shards if we would still were able to swap, which we can't so the value of the Mythic essence is even lower than those old 20 skin shards) If we were to give skin shards a value of 195 rp each (the cost of an orb), those 102~ ish fragments would have a value of 19,890 RP, while 200 mythic essence at 1 skin shard per 10 mythic essence would be worth 3900 RP (which is an hypothesis, mythic essence's value is even lower since you can't convert it to skin shards anymore)... The old deal, although very expensive was still gambling and a low value deal. The new deal on the other hand is still very expensive and the value of the deal is abysmally low, literally less than 1/5th of the old system Nowdays mythic essence is only "desirable" if you want an old prestige skin you missed or an old event chroma (150 per skin, 40 per chroma)... and those old Prestige skins are usually ugly and not very desirable, while the event chromas are as good as 290rp chromas but at the very expensive cost of 40 ME... So yeah, would you rather have 102 random skin shards, or an old prestige/low value mythic skin and an event chroma? TL;DR: Acquiring Mythic Variant skins from the sanctum has less than 1/5th of the value of the old capsule system (which was already low value)

I may not have much incentive to play the game anymore. I’ve been playing on and off for roughly 8 years or so, some times more fervently than others, but what’s always kept me coming back is the potential for the free skins that may hold me over until I maybe see a new champion I want to play, or a sale on skins for characters I play. (I’ve bought a couple skins for characters I played a fair amount, like Shen and Tahm Kench) Without a clear ability to get something decent for free, I fear that this will ultimately result in me not having any as much incentive to play. As much as I do enjoy the game as it is, adding some new champions fairly frequently just isn’t enough content to warrant paying for a battle pass to get things I really don’t have much interest in. Like you mentioned, knowing that I got the same exact skins as everyone else who got it that way does also have a feel like it cheapens getting that Prestige Skin in the first place. Blue essence is also almost worthless, with the raaaaare exception of being able to buy chromas with it when the shop comes around, or purchasing a rune page or a clash ticket (I was happy at least there were the chromas when the emporium was around). I worry that the use of blue essence or orange essence won’t be for anything all that valuable either. Like, just opportunities to get like lame skins or even worse, things like emotes and borders. Free to play be damned, not even being someone who has spent money on the game is safe from being treated like they never spent any money. It seems like in the near future, there really won’t be much reason to be loyal to this game. Far too greedy.

Am I the only 1 who feels like this new Noxus Pass is even more grindy than any other pass? I have never done any on the mission before on any other pass. Simply playing Ranked, ARAM or TFT made me reach the final free reward. Yet this pass, even by doing the mission I feel like I'm playing even MORE, yet I'm still so far from the end. Yes I get that we got 7 weeks. 7 weeks of 7 days = 49 days. And I don't even feel like we have enough mission(daily, weekly, pass) to reach more than mid 20ties.

Slowly becoming like valorant. Nothing good for free. No skins for free. Just one lowest tier skin every season like in valorant a free pistol trash skin

Fantastic analysis. As a whale and a former ultra free to play grinder from LOL(bought so many packs of orbs the last two years also for the mythic essence and many skins which could be rerolled) who moved over to Fortnite for many reasons I can really see what you mean in your comparison to the battle passes of Fortnite. The system Epic made is way better for all players as this new horrible system Riot made. I am glad I stopped playing LOL when I see these new bad changes. I always bought Skin Shards from mythic essence to be able to get more skins in total what I could use on some of my champs in LOL instead of buying prestigeous skins cause I was a major reroller who had a whole skin economy around rerolling skins.

Good news to old players, now the price of accounts will rise due to new players not wanting to do all the work with the skins.

this is such a nerf to literally everyone, not even casual players benefit from this. You will literally never be able to earn any blue essence aside from the battle pass, which would mean it would take you years to get all champs in the game, this is so disgusting, and will without a doubt discourage new players from playing the game.

Thing is league is not a fulfilling game. It leaves you feeling frustrated and for a lot if people the thing that they were playing for were chests and skins. Now that’s no longer really an option because you only really get 2 skins per pass and they last 7-8 weeks. Before the updates you would have gotten 7-8 skins by that time. The grind is no longer worth it.

With the new client update and such the Missions for the Serascam Ultimate kda all out have been removed completely, such has happened to me, made a ticket and they replied by saying its a known issues and it will be fixed in Some time... imagine spending 20+ euro like me just be to stuck with the first form until god knows when... 2:16 Fvck Riot Game. I have 65 mythic shard, i collected them for YEARS for free. I keeped them for a cost 100 rare skin, like hextech skin... And now we can't gain chests for free... And we can't buy random skin... I hate you Riot.
